Hi, I'm Ann Marie Michaels. I make my living online, and I show others how to do what I've been doing for over a decade.

My Background & Experience
I started my career in Silicon Valley, worked at Razorfish, CKS, Deutsch, Foote, Cone & Belding. My client list includes Apple, Disney, Target, Sony, Old Navy, L'Oreal & Nestle.
Those were the days of free massage, complimentary bagels and cappuccino for breakfast every morning, and snowboarding offsites. I was getting raises and promotions every year, and making a six figure salary just a few years out of college.
I still remember the time Disney boss, Michael Eisner came to the office, and yes, I worked with Apple back when Steve Jobs was running Apple.
I also lived through the Dot Com Crash, which was one of the things that made me realize how important it is to have side hustle income (but I'll talk more about that here on this site.)
From Silicon Valley to Building a Million Dollar Blog Network
When my daughter was born in 2007, I realized I couldn't leave her for 10-12 hours a day. So I started a little food blog called Cheeseslave.
Over the next 6 years, I grew that little flood blog into 250,000 monthly unique website visitors and over 350,000 social media followers.
In 2008, the year after I started the blog, in an effort to help my fellow “real food” blogger friends make money, I founded a blog network in the health & wellness space called Village Green Network.
I started the company on my coffee table and bootstrapped the business to over $1.3 million in annual revenue within 5 years. During that time, I helped a number of our bloggers become six figure earners.
I soon realized running the blog network was not all it was cracked up to be. My whole reason for starting a business was to stay home with my little girl.
Suddenly I was working 10 hour days at the office, managing a team of people, and the nanny was raising my daughter.
In Chinese, Crisis = Opportunity
The blog network went under in 2014, which I knew see as a blessing. The crash of my business led me to years of research, searching for a better way to grow a scalable business. I wanted to start over and create a new business.
I had done it before, so I knew I could do it again. But this time, I wanted to build a business that would allow me the freedom to work from home so I could be my kids and work anywhere.
Starting Over — How to Create a Business That Would Scale
I knew what I didn't want in a business… all the stuff I hated in my old business. An office lease, commuting to and from work, managing a staff of employees, complicated bookkeeping, lawsuits…
From 2014, they year my blog network crashed, to 2017, I researched and tried different online business models to see which ones I liked, and also, to see which ones would scale.
See, I still wanted to build a million dollar business. But I needed the right business model that would scale without all the headaches and traps.
Most importantly, I knew I wanted a way to make a lot of money without having to sacrifice time with my children while they are young.
5 Ways to Make Money Online
As I researched, I realized there really are only 5 ways to make money online:
(1) Advertising – getting paid with ads on content on a blog, YouTube or Instagram. (2) Selling digital products – online courses, e-books, membership sites. (3) Selling physical products – on Amazon or Ebay or on your own shopping cart. (4) Affiliate marketing – getting a commission from promoting products. (5) Network marketing – getting a commission from promoting products, but also keeping the customers for life and also earning commissions from the people you recruit who also promote products.
My Favorite Way to Make Money Online
While I love almost all 5 ways of making money online, and still do most of them (everything except physical products for a number of reasons), I was surprised to find one that I loved the most is network marketing.
Network marketing is just like affiliate marketing, which I have done for over a decade, but it's even better because the commissions are higher and you keep the customers for life.
I had done network marketing in my 20s in my Silicon Valley days, as a part-time side hustle. I loved the model back then, but I love it even more now.
Why Network Marketing?
Not only is network marketing the best way to save money on taxes, but it's something most people can do from home, great for moms who want to stay home with their kids.
And, in my few years of experience working in the industry, it is the most fun I've ever had in business. I believe it is also the most evolved and effective marketing and distribution model on the planet.

If you factor in other current trends like the rise of smart phones, social media, influencer marketing, and the call for authenticity, network marketing is set to explode on a global scale.

Since I'm so passionate about online marketing, I created this blog (as well as a YouTube channel, Facebook page and Instagram account) so I can spread the gospel about network marketing and MONAT online. Not only that, but I'm using these tools to teach others how to do what I do.
